If it were summer and the temp was 104 – 106 and you could do pretty much whatever you wanted to do………..would you sit with a wool rug draped over your lap?
Silly question, huh?
When the creative bug bites you just have to go with it no matter what.
You have to suffer for your art.
You have to forsake all sense of logic.
You have to let the artistic juices flow.
You have to drive your husband crazy with your obsession.
You have to…………..oh never mind. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
I’ve been rug hooking. This is done with wool. Not exactly a summer time sport.
I started this rug a couple of years ago and now that I have a little extra time I got it out to take a look. Once I got started I couldn’t quit.
Not only did I finish this rug, but I’ve also started another one. I’ll show it to you later when I get it finished.
I hooked this rug from one of my painting designs called “Quail Country”.
I also used the same pattern to needle felt a pillow and you saw that in a previous post.
Painting patterns aren’t just for painting anymore!
I haven’t been neglecting my painting, though. I’ve been painting projects to submit to the Portland, Oregon mini convention and possibly to HOOT for next year.
Also painted a couple of pieces just for me and I’ll show those to you another time.
It finally got entirely too hot to continue cleaning my garage, so that’s on the back burner right now. And I DO mean BURNER!!
Hope you’re all staying cool. Whew! What a summer!

Ronnie B (for Burning up in Kansas)
